"When in doubt, take a bath."
Mae West

Ummm there is nothing more relaxing than a bathroom filled with candles - a bubble brimming bath and peace and quiet!

Savor life's tiny delights---a crackling fire, a glorious sunset, a hug from a child, a walk with a friend, a cup of soup, a kiss behind the ear.
John Anthony

My favourite time of the month is when I get to go teach classes with a fab bunch of girls.

We scrap - we chat - we laugh - we share.

Its such good fun and I savour each and every second I spend with my scrapping buddies.

Families are like fudge…mostly sweet, with a few nuts.
Anonymous

Ask any of the members of my family who the nutter is and they will be sure to say its me!

They all think Ive totally lost the plot because I am passionate about bits of paper and little dolls with silly names - ah well do I care ? - nah - off course not - they are all just as nutty as me - they just don't know it - YET!

Here is the journal I am using to store my piccies and daily ramblings!

I'm lovin this 365 journey sooo much.
How about you?

Week One LO - My word for 2008 is Persevere - journalling is rather long and personal so has been added to the reverse of the layout......somethings you just dont want the world to know!
I used yummy Scenic Route papers and chipboard accents.

Take time every day to do something ridiculous.
Philipa Walker

I am never too old to play!
The little ones in my life help to keep me young and make me feel so alive.
I can be the fool and clown around and they don't care - they love me for being the crazy old bat that I am!

“The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!”
Coco Chanel

A day to remember - a day to mourn - a day to grieve - a day to smile - a day to be glad I am alive.

Look back and smile on perils past.
Sir Walter Scott

The personal & emotional perils I have endured over the past few years have made me a stronger and hopefully better person. I found an inner strength I never knew I possessed - a strength that has taken me through some of my deepest and darkest days - that strength I celebrate.

Hold out your hands to feel the luxury of the sunbeams.
Helen Keller

I can change the world
With my own two hands
Make it a better place
With my own two hands
Make it a kinder place
With my own two hands
With my own
With my own two hands
I can make peace on earth
With my own two hands
I can clean up the earth
With my own two hands
I can reach out to you
With my own two hands
With my own
With my own two hands
I'm going to make it a brighter place
With my own two hands
I'm going to make it a safer place
With my own two hands
I'm going to help the human race
With my own two hands
With my own
With my own two hands
I can hold you
With my own two hands
I can comfort you
With my own two hands
But you've got to use
Use your own two hands
Use your own
Use your own two hands
With our own
With our own two hands
Jack Johnson.

"I am beautiful no matter what they say"
Christine Aguilera

My dear old Dad had lots of weird and wonderful sayings which luckily he cared to share with his daughters as we were growing up.
One of them being

"The Warthog is the ugliest of creatures and yet a male warthog finds a female Warthog attractive - who defines what is or isn't beautiful anyway?"

We are all beautiful in our own unique way - beauty for me comes from within a person - and inside I feel beautiful. I guess I am lucky because I am content with who I am.

I am happy in my own skin....even though it is a little wobblier than it used to be!

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are"
Mary Jean Irion

Today is no normal day - its Bobs 14th birthday!

Oh how my baby has grown.

He sure is an amazing treasure in my life and being the sensible one in the family he keeps my feet firmly on the ground.

Fun and frolics are always plentiful when Bobs is around - he is the family comic and makes me laugh out loud.

Time spent with him is always fun and yet he is such a caring and sensitive young man.

I am proud to be his Mom - but gain more pride when he openly admits that I am his best friend.

"Life is too short and too amazing to spend time worrying about imperfection " Ali Edwards.

Life sure is too short to worry about things that really do not matter.
This month is a hard one for me as I have the anniversaries of two deaths to get through.
Loosing those you love has taught me one of life's valuable lessons - life is for living so make sure you live it because you are a long time dead.

I am just so glad to be alive.
So glad that I have my family and friends in my life - they know the real me and love me for who I am - warts and all - for that I am blessed.

"I´m gonna make a change,

For once in my life

It´s gonna feel real good

Gonna make a difference

Gonna make it right

I'm starting with the man in the mirror"
Micheal Jackson

My word for 2008 is
Perseverance
steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
This is a word I use a lot to describe the dedication and commitment my son J shows in life - after talking through some issues we have to deal with over the next few months, Hubs said he admired my perseverance whilst trying to achieve what I believe to be right for J and his future.
I hope and pray that I may be blessed with the strength and courage to continue my battles through 2008 and that my perseverance pays off.

Happy New Year!

I've jumped on the bandwagon and decided to join Anna in her 365 day challenge.

Documenting my daily thoughts and feelings is something that I have done ever since I was about 16, so this isn't a new thing for me - although I have never added photographs to my journals so this I think will be a fun challenge for me.

Anna's photo prompt to start this baby rolling was

"A day without laughter is a day wasted" - Charles Chaplain

with the journalling prompt to set your 10 goals for 2008.

As a family we do not make NY resolutions - well lets face it most resolutions go wayside by the end of January!
We do however set ourselves life goals for the coming year & here are mine -

Cook more - Eat less
Walk more - Talk less
Sew more - Spend less
Sleep more - Stress less
Love more - Care less

I've attached my goals to my kitchen noticeboard in the hope that they inspire me to stay on track and hopefully make 2008 a happy and healthy year for me.
